Check the exact app name and publisher on the store page before installing. India and MAX are not interchangeable labels for the same package.
List what you need to preserve: player ID, linked sign-in provider, inventory, rank and purchase history. These items may have different transfer rules.
The existing Free Fire/MAX Firelink FAQ concerns those two products. It is not evidence that the new India app supports the same account or matchmaking links.
Before moving, look for an India-specific official explanation covering your sign-in provider and server. Keep the old installation and original purchase receipts until the answer is clear.

For playing with friends, ask which exact app and region they use before agreeing on a queue. Check compatibility inside the official app without sharing passwords.
